Building Your Web Presense

The internet holds promise in many domains: communication, art, commerce, and politics. But even as the barriers to participation become lower, technical expertise and experience remain an invaluable part of any new web-based endeavor.

My most recent work uses the Drupal content management system. Using this open source software, allows clients to take control of their web content. Once my work is done, the client can add content and edit their site themselves using simple online forms. This is efficient and cost effective.

With more than ten years of professional Web development experience, in a variety of environments, from freelance work for small businesses, to the management of large projects in an agency setting, I can help you realize your projects.

There are various interdependent disciplines that come into play in the development of a Web site: business, content, design, technology and production. Understanding all of these and the way they work together is crucial to building a successful site.

Not only do I have hands on experience with HTML coding, programming, content management systems, system administration, graphic production, and graphic design, I have taught these skills to others. In building your site, you will also gain an understanding of how it all works, so you can go forward with confidence in your new project.

I recently completed an MFA in Visual Art at the University of California San Diego, concentrating on computational aesthetics. As I pursue my art practice, I will continue to seek freelance web development work.

Working with non-profit and small business clients is especially gratifying to me.
